The beads are individually hand formed with paper pulp into organic disk shapes that get larger toward the center, creating a deceivingly heavy appearance, despite it remaining lightweight. The color is ivory, and have a ruffled appearance like shell fragments.

The process of making the beads includes adding a water-resistant retention agent and archival booking glue to the paper pulp, and a clear coat designed for jewelry to the entire necklace once it is complete. Excessive moisture should be avoided, but there are multiple layers of material that allow for normal wear. The pulp used for the beads is the same archival, high quality material I use for my handmade paper stationery.
